The Country Song

Papa used to play catch with me
Mama got the ball I passed back
I didn’t know when the sun set

At the table of dinner he said
There is no truth other than what you believe
I didn’t know what he had meant

Those days I was absorbed in math
Told the answer is only one
I’ve tried to get close to universe
But now my effort don’t pay

Here coming a bus I’ll leave here
You don’t find where it’s going
No story is made yet
I’m free to do everything
I send the country song

In the street they look the same
Knowledge gained in the school never works
I didn’t know why they learned things

A man I met by accident
Scattered the wisdom of view of value
I didn’t know how great he was

As my world is getting wider
Two men is conflicting in my head
The one who’s gonna go ahead and
The one who’s gonna hide inside

Here coming a bus I’ll leave here
You don’t find where it’s going
No story is made yet
I’m free to do everything
I send the country song

Nothing stays in the same place
How can you run the painful race
They make a weapon of faith
Whatever you believe is truth for you
Whatever I believe is truth for me
As papa said long ago—I go to find my truth

Here coming a bus I’ll leave here
You don’t find where it’s going
No story is made yet
I’m free to do everything
I send the country song
